I'm exhausted after merely thinking about what I will be doing this weekend! Lance and I are in for an action packed natural adventure in Mexico's beautiful state of Michoacan. So, here's what we will be doing day by day:
On Friday, we will leave Jardin del Cantador at 7:30 AM. We will travel fo4 4 hours to Tzararacua and Tzararacuita, two supposedly beautiful waterfalls. We will hike 30 minutes to get to them and then have the chance to swim at the waterfall. I've been told that the water is extremely cold, so I'm not sure that i will take them up on the offer to swim. However, I will certainly take the hike! Later, we will go to the city of Uruapan and stay at the Hotel Victoria. We will then have a free evening to look around.
On Saturday, we have a long and tiring day! It all starts with a buffet breakfast and then we head out into the wilderness. We will ride on a horse for a total of 6 hours, all the way to the Paricutin Volcano and back. We will stop along the way to see a church that was destroyed in an eruption and later climb all the way up to the peak. We've been told to expect tons of rain. According to our program coordinator, we will hurt in parts that we didn't even know we had. Later, we will return to the hotel for some much deserved rest.
Sunday will also be an action packed day. We will be heading to the little town of Patzcuaro and to the national park there. Hopefully, it won't be too intense because I'm sure we will be sore. We will be back in Guanajuato by 7:00 PM.
I'm really excited about this trip! I think it will be tons of fun! Who knows if I will be able to function the following Monday, however.
Today was just your ordinary Monday in Guanajuato, which makes it a good one. We went to school, came home for lunch, and then went to our favorite Bagel Cafetin to do some homework. I'm happy to report that I finished my final essay for my literature class! So, all I have to do is two presentations! We had a party this evening for Cesar, the little two-year-old who turned two today! Some of Queta's and Julio's friends came over and we had a great time! I had the best cake at the party. It was like a Tres Leches cake, but chocolate and cherry flavor! If only Sam's Club made a cake like that in the US... On another note, our friends at Bagel Cafetin invited us to the cafe tomorrow morning to try out one of their new menu items: pancakes and fruit! I can't wait!
Well, that's all for now! I hope everyone had a wonderful start to the week!

This sounds like so much fun! Is the volcano active at all? Volcanoes fascinate me! :-)
Hi Andie! I believe it is active. But, don't hold me to that. I will find out this weekend and report back! Thanks for commenting!!
That's my mommy; you know that, right?
Your hotel looks awesome. I love the English translations on their website; they're pretty funny.
